Management fee benchmarker

Normalize the management quote you are holding, see what it leaves unpriced, and take the same five questions to the next manager.

What this does

Enter the annual management fee you have been quoted, the length band, the crew and how the yacht is used, then say which line items the fee covers. You get your own figure divided out per crew member and across the ends of your length band, a list of what the quote prices and what it does not, and five questions to put to a second manager. You will not get a market benchmark, because no fee range has been confirmed against a primary source we can cite, so the report leaves that space blank. Every figure is arithmetic on the numbers you typed, in your own currency. It is not advice and it is not a view on whether your quote is fair.

Question 1 of 5

How long is the yacht?

A band, not a length. It is used only to divide your own fee across the two ends of the band you pick.

Every question is optional. Skipping one narrows what the report can say.

No management house publishes a rate card, so WhichFlagToFly's calculator states no benchmark. It divides the fee a reader was quoted across the crew and the ends of the length band, then lists what the quote prices and what it leaves unpriced. The market positions below are what the published industry sources say, and they do not vary by flag.

How management fees are structuredManagement houses typically charge a fixed monthly retainer scaled to the yacht's size (market guidance puts it at roughly €1,500 to 15,000 or more a month by size) or a share of the operating budget, with charter management charged separately at typically 15 to 20 percent of charter revenue.breezeYachting.swiss - Professional Yacht Management Companies and Their Feeswww.breezeyachting.swissRetrieved 2026-09-01Effective 2025-10-25Corroborating source, not the register's own publicationOpen sourceInformational only, not legal, tax or financial advice.
